Our story
Marisela Godinez and her husband opened the original El Mesón as a Southeast Austin taqueria in 2000 and added this table-service South Lamar location in 2010. The family-owned restaurant is known for chiles en nogada, mole poblano, chile relleno de tres quesos and a Sunday brunch buffet that won an Austin Chronicle critics' pick.
